Birthday Party Fun

We welcomed friends and family from near and not so near yesterday to celebrate Hanako's first birthday. She got dressed up in her birthday finery for the occasion and enjoyed some playtime with Janine.


Leigh didn't let her party dress stop her from getting down and having fun either.


After some burgers and dogs, there was ice cream cake of course. Two of them actually! Hana seemed to enjoy it.

And of course we ended with some gifts. This one, from Aunt Molly, was a hit with the whole crew.

Happy Birthday Hana!

Here on the east coast, we believe in celebrating a child's birthday. As many times as possible. So we started bright and early this morning with some presents. It was a group effort.

Hana enjoyed playing with the bunnies that Danny and Leigh gave her while modeling her new hat, courtesy of cousins Ida and Miki.

Leigh liked the new bath boats. No bath necessary.

The happy birthday girl, runny nose, mouth breathing and all.
