A Happier Birthday

Earlier in the week, Leigh had the gastric good fortune to be health for some chocolate cake in New Jersey. She was quite pleased.
We rode bikes in the driveway.
 And watering help.

Jersey

After it snowed, here it was short-sleeve weather for our trip to Jersey.
 Unbridled joy.

 Getting a ride home.
Giving Grandpa some love.

Bradford Oregonians

We start most days with a good old-fashioned tantrum, terrible-two style.
We still don't know what the inciting event was.  Later, we wait for the Haddonfield grandparents and Martins St cousins to arrive.  "Dad, we're stuck."
It's nice to have a helpful sister.
Leigh got right into Arthur's new book.
Danny got right into hanging out with Elsie.  He took her on a tour of the property.
 Culminating in the rock section.

I managed to overhear part of this conversation.
"I've climbed a lot of rocks."
"I've climbed more rocks than you."
"Well, I've climbed like five hundred rocks."
"That's not as many rocks as I've climbed."

H-field II

Don't you worry, DadKV found those missing Legos. Well supplied, the Ds then built set 6950, the Mobil Rocket Transport. Hawk helped G-toko work the internets.Leigh likes to call the dolls .Hanako".Here's some couch-jumping.This went well until G-DRV tripped the Hawk as he was jumping down. Then it didn't go so well.

Thanksgiving Part 4

DadKV's old Christmas presents kept on giving this week.
First Danny discovered the Transformers.DHawk lobbied until we let him bring some back to Connecticut.

Today he remembered some talk about Legos. Here he is giving a helicopter pilot an axe. Then he kept demanding more and more "rockets" to arm the chopper.Eventually he converted over to some peaceful outer space/astronaut-type action.

After prying the Legos out of his hands, we hit the Camden Aquarium. Mama and LRV with jellyfish.Danny in the shark tunnel.HMV was youthful. All the youth wore DRV out.

Family Gathering

After a four year hiatus, we went back to Virginia for a big get-together. Mother Nature hadn't heard that it was September and treated us to some 90+ heat, humidity, and biblical bugs.

Some of us slept through it.Aunt Ella and cousins Theo and Miki unsuccessfully try to beat the heat.Hanako sought sanctuary in the shade with G-toko.
Uncle "Ars-surr" was a big hit with his fishing.Danny's first catch!Water balloons are a good way to cool off.
Danny looks a bit overwhelmed by girls.After-dinner sparklers. It's hard to get everyone to not cry at the same time.See you in a couple of years!

Vistors

Baby Hana (ko) (rhymes with Ghana-co) has been receiving visitors.
Here she was allowed to rest in her father's lap.
Grandparents are excited.
Mama thought she would be comfortable with a bed of warm laundry. Usually this would be the sort of thing I would propose, but we're just rolling with whatever Mama cooks up these days.Mr. Reliable, Professore Nicola Camerlenghi swung by on his way to Italy. Aunt Molly also got some lap time.Unfortunately, no documentation of DHawk wearing out grandparents, professores, and others with endless sports.

Bonus Hawk shot.
