Sports!

After the Peabody we needed some action.  Good thing Danny Hawkins was home from Lego camp.
Uncle Arthur doing some fancy moves . . .
 . . . before unleashing a rocket shot.
Sorry, Elsie, I had to post it.

 Three monkeys in a van.
 Girls in a pool.

 Plus some hairy guy.

Theo was looking a little burnt at dinner.
Other folks had energy for some spirited garage hockey.

By then, even the hometown girls were looking burnt.

Back to the Peabody

A suitably chaotic dinner with cousins in town.

More chaos at breakfast.
 Then, off to the Peabody.

 Hanako pronounced most fossils "silly".
This penny tornado was a real hit.  Uncle Arthur tried to stuff it with as many coins as he could jam in.
This living bearded lizard was also "silly".

Hanako helping Leigh . . . by toughening her up.

Bradford Oregonians

We start most days with a good old-fashioned tantrum, terrible-two style.
We still don't know what the inciting event was.  Later, we wait for the Haddonfield grandparents and Martins St cousins to arrive.  "Dad, we're stuck."
It's nice to have a helpful sister.
Leigh got right into Arthur's new book.
Danny got right into hanging out with Elsie.  He took her on a tour of the property.
 Culminating in the rock section.

I managed to overhear part of this conversation.
"I've climbed a lot of rocks."
"I've climbed more rocks than you."
"Well, I've climbed like five hundred rocks."
"That's not as many rocks as I've climbed."

Slip N Slide

Our next-door neighbor's birthday party, with a bounce-house slide, plus water.  Apparently the standard slip-n-slide didn't cut it last year.

 Boys playing chicken.

Car Show

There was a classic car show this morning, right next door!  The boys walked over and checked all manner of muscle car.

Even a muscle school bus.

Fun times for $4.  Danny is downstairs building a Lego muscle car as I type.

Hawkins Time

Who doesn't start the day by building Devastator, with one glass of milk and one of OJ?

The same guy now fuels up for family night at camp.
There is a lot of running.

 Hiding from Dad.
 Family night.
 A particularly funny skit.
