Snow

We're pretty busy living the winter sport life here. We sometimes find time to bathe the children. The girls decided to so some bathtub planking.
Hanako ditching the trainer and picking up a stick!
 My favorite time of day.

Then, it snowed and we had to do other things.
Such as freeze tag with the neighbors.
Freeze tag is Hanako's favorite ice game.
Here she is coming to get me.
The older brother humors her, which is quite nice.

Hockey party

Danny's team came over for a skating party. We are in Rangers' and Bruins' country.

Danny was out there so long he got a droolcicle.

Backyard Hockey

My favorite time of day is the 15 minutes when the sun is so low that the rink is in the shade, but the light still catches the kids in the face.
This photo looks like a still-life, with Leigh and Hanako looking at the camera. Maybe they will re-create it in 30 years with the neighbors.

 Ass-kicking face.
 Happy face.

Hockey

Wintertime is hockeytime here. We try to skate before the schoolbus comes; the ice is best after a cold night.
That's Hanako in her pajamas.

Waving to mommy in the window.
Hockey sisters with their Warriors sweatshirts.
This was a 7am game at Ingalls Rink against Yale Youth Hockey.

First Skate

December turned to January and our water turned to ice.
 Perfect ice conditions.

Hanako got out there with the trainer.

Thanksgiving Tournament

Danny had a hockey tournament in Rhode Island after Thanksgiving. We went to Battleship Cove in our down time. An angry PT boat.
There was much crawling through ships.

 There was also much hockey,
 and a second place finish.
