Funny Talk

Two funny quotes for the public, sandwiched around a walk.

Danny was in the bathtub and water was dripping off his nose.
"Whoa!
I'm
peeing
out
of
my
nose!" he said.

Overheard, as we walked back to the van:
SHV: "Danny, you know what?"
DHV: "Yeah?"
SHV: "I love you."
DHV: "And I love that stream!"

Entertaining Baby Leigh

Here's two minutes of Danny running around SHV while boisterously bopping onto his bottom for Baby Leigh's bacchanallian belly laughs. Just like the robobaby cries, her laughs are also very quiet. Very nearly almost actually completely silent. So you have to read her eyes.

There was more tape, but I figured two minutes that you'll never get back are more than enough to steal from you.

Ostriches and Buffaloes, Oh My!

The old PC kicked the bucket the other day, but now we're bigger, stronger, faster. Less death-rattle and unexplained blue screens. We'll get to the videos in a few days, but here are some photos of DHV tearing it up.

A dingy children's museum in West Hartford (across the street from a Whole Foods - yay, lunch!) provided entertainment with a yed-doh arh-mee cahr.
And some water.

Our petting zoo trip on Wednesday went pretty well. Janine and SHV brought him in brimming with confidence.
Lots of baby goats were nice. This sketchy ostrich had SHV freaked out.
The giant hairy bison didn't agree with the little guy so much.

First Walk!

It was warm here, one day. We were tired of sitting at home listening to the quiet hum of robobaby, so we went for a walk.
It's a good thing we bought a double stroller; here's robobaby and her associated equipment, and DHV making a final pre-flight inspection.
What a couple of horses' asses.
DHV pushed baby Leigh.
All the way home.
It was a slow half mile.

. . . except more crazy.

It's been a trying couple of weeks here in the Haven. We ran out of breast milk and Crazy II decided she didn't want to drink bottles anymore. Between the need to have her gain weight so that the pulmonologists would let us get her off the ventilator (which means she HAS to eat) and the spectre of developing oral aversions from forcing the bottle (some preemies don't eat cause they don't like to - and you wind up with a 5 year old drinking Ensure all day), we had our hands full every 3 hours. Frustration and Anger filled our house. Before that all happened, we took some pictures.

Our visiting physical therapist left a mat for Leigh to crawl on. DHV appropriated it for jumping.
He makes "ay bee dee zoup" with actual letters. That's the letter Q he's feeding to baby.Play time. DHV's face reflects great concern that LRV is getting attention.
Tummy time.Janine and Leigh.
That's a crazy face.

There ain't no cure for crazy . . .

It snowed here last Monday. DHV and DKV made snowballs, and snow angels, and shoveled snow . . . and then got in the swing set. That's how you get the nickname, Crazy I.
LRV has been working on standing. She seems to really enjoy it. Here she looks like she's had a few too many down at Mory's.
Baby Leigh does not like being messed with.
DHV thinks her head is just perfect!
Crazy I tumbles head over heels and Crazy II could not be happier.
Crazy II giving her teething rings the business.
