Learning to Swim

Family V convened at the YMCA early Saturday morning for DHV's third swim class. The first class was largely an exercise in whimpering and clinging/clawing to Mommy but the little guy showed marked improvement in class #2 and continued that trend today.

Daddy eased him into the chilly water nice and slow.

He seemed to like the noodle a lot better than that kid in front of him.

Floating like this brought back fond memories of the womb.

DHV was a little surprised by the dunking part; if Mommy had only had the video camera we could share footage of the pseudo-seizure he had after emerging from the water. Unfortunately she didn't so all you get is this post-dunk shot...

... and this post-dunk expression.

He cheered right up though!

Wow. Looks like a poolful of swim diapers... Given HusbandKV's late introduction to the pool--and his quick domination of aquatic activity--this can only mean that D. Hawk is preparing for the Olympics in 2020?

That post-dunk expression is a little too "baby frat boy" for comfort.
